In advance of the 27th UN Climate Conference in Egypt (COP27), the VPIC became a signatory to the 2022 Global Investor Statement to Governments on the Climate Crisis, alongside 604 investors managing over $42 trillion in assets.
The VPIC voiced their support for the newly proposed U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) supplemental methane regulations in a press release issued by the nonprofit, Ceres.
VPIC is one of 168 investors, representing $6.23 trillion in assets under management, who signed on to a statement that was sent to the Biden administration calling for comprehensive methane regulations for the US oil and gas sector to curb dangerous GHG emissions and more stringent enforcement mechanisms to back them up.
