Engagement Activity

By engaging with companies VPIC aims to promote the disclosure and reporting of business practices consistent with industry-recognized guidelines to promote long-term value creation and preservation, such as those developed by the Value Reporting Foundation and the International Sustainability Standards Board. The Commission is committed to a long-term process of constructive engagement with companies to address material risks and considers financial factors and environmental, social and governance factors in its investment decisions. To ensure all factors are integrated consistently into the investment decision-making process, VPIC adopted an ESG Policy, which is overseen by the VPIC Stewardship Committee. The Commission believes that the development, disclosure, and reporting of analysis by investment managers to address material risks equips portfolio teams to effectively monitor and mitigate the portfolio’s exposure to systemic economic risks and track performance outcomes.
